San Sebastián Jazz Festival — Free Concerts at Plaza Trinidad
One of Europe's most veteran jazz festivals
The San Sebastián Jazz Festival, held since 1966, is one of Europe's most venerable jazz events. Every July for ten days the festival brings together international jazz figures at top-flight venues.
The festival venues
- Teatro Victoria Eugenia — ticketed concerts with major international names
- Kursaal Auditorium — more experimental and fusion proposals, limited capacity
- Plaza de la Trinidad — free nightly concerts from 22:30, the soul of the festival
- Paseo de la Zurriola — open-air stage with Cantabrian Sea views, free admission
The Plaza de la Trinidad concerts
Every night from 22:30, Plaza de la Trinidad fills with locals and visitors to enjoy intimate sets with the headline artists. The natural acoustics of the square, surrounded by the baroque buildings of the Old Town, create an atmosphere impossible to reproduce in any indoor venue.
How to enjoy the festival for free
The complete programme of free concerts is published at jazzaldia.com three weeks in advance. For ticketed concerts, online advance purchase offers a 15% discount versus box office price.
